More Jewelry from Fabric

Here are a couple more of the fabric jewelry items I have made. The fan pin is wrapped with some eyelash yarn; the base of the fan is white leather painted with lumiere. When I go to make something that includes a few beads, I definitely have to choose the beads during the day time. I have a lot of different shades of pale green beads - some more like jade, some more turquoise, some more of a spring green. I'm wondering if I got one of those Ott lights that are supposed to be just like daylight, if I'd be able to choose beads with confidence at night. Anybody want to weigh in on this?

The ribbon bracelet "matches" the bird ribbon pin I blogged about a couple of posts ago. I just love this kind of ribbon with a woven pattern - I wanted to make a necklace, earrings, the whole nine yards with this beautiful stuff. The stores local to me don't sell too much of this, so it's harder to find nowadays...

Happy Stitching, everyone,

I love the fan! I can't even imagine how to make it, but it's adorable. Those jaquard ribbons - I usually get mine from Evening Star Designs. Carolyn has some that are floral, and all kinds of other things, including dragons and elephants. Last time I looked, anyway.

Let me weigh in on the Ott lights. I have 3 here. Two are the small portables and one is a floor lamp that I use mostly for reading.

I couldn't work without them. Not only do they show you the "real" colors, but they are so good for your eyes.

I've usually found the best prices on eBay; failing that, if you can find a coupon it would help. The prices can be really high in some places, so shopping around is best.

Love the fan.
